Damming
Define: Pretend there was a river with lots of trees, plants and a tribe of rainforest people that lived next to it. One day some people thought it would be nice to have a dam becaues then they could have more hydroelectric power. So they built a dam in the river. This made the water level rise and flood the rainforest peoples home.
Effect: The rainforest people might have to move if their home floods. It might flood plants and trees with the fruit that they eat. Animals that they eat will probably leave. Precious things like their huts, pans, pots, food, weapons and knives might get lost in the flood so they would not be able to eat and would not have shelter.
